One morning, last fall, I rolled over in bed and by habit, grabbed my iPhone and skimmed through my email. One, in particular, caught my eye. It was from a "Target buyer" asking if I would be interested in a new Women's Health assortment they were putting together for Spring 2015. I thought it was SPAM and proceeded through my morning. Later in my office, I saw the email again, this time noticing the Target logo and buyer ID in the signature. I responded skeptically, asking for more information - which led to a phone call the next morning...
Nearly 7 grueling months later, we are landing on the shelves of almost 1000 Target stores across the United States and coming to Target.com next month!! My last post shared one of the huge transitions we have taken with a co-packer in order to produce the quantities demanded to work with Target. This, in itself, has been an incredible undertaking, and one we will continue to refine as we go forward.
To tell you that I've always dreamed of being in Target would be a lie. In fact, it wasn't really a goal at all. But sometimes, opportunities are presented that just feel like the right thing and they expand our perspectives.
The more I have thought about our partnership with Target, the more it has made sense. Zoe Organics is a premium brand, but don't let that be confused with pretentious and exclusive. It has always been my goal to make safe, premium and conscientious products at affordable price points widely available - and our partnership with Target does just that.
I am so thrilled that Target is making maternal health a priority and offering safe, natural wellness products that meet the needs of the modern, savvy mom in this critical life stage. Target has taken some impressive steps in the right direction, bringing more natural and organic choices to their customers, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this movement.
The new maternal health destination at Target will offer brands that meet a new mother’s personal care, healthcare and nutritional needs. Located near the pharmacy and over-the-counter aisles, it will be adjacent to the women’s health section of the store, sharing an aisle with feminine care/hygiene and sexual health products.
This new pre- and post-partum wellness section is designed to help pregnant women and new moms easily find products that are safe to put in and on their bodies, including pregnancy care, morning sickness aids, post-partum healing and wellness, breastfeeding essentials and family care products from the following lines: Zoe Organics, The Honest Co., Motherlove, Earth Mama Angel Baby, Three Lollies, Healthy Mama, Psi Bands and Sea-Band Mama.
The Zoe Organics product line up includes: Belly Butter, Belly Oil, Refresh Oil, Cream, Everything Balm, Breathe Balm and Insect Repellent. In addition to these seven products, Zoe Organics Nipple Balm and Mama's Ritual Oil will be available on Target.com, May 17.
Did I mention that we are launching in nearly 1000 stores? Nine-hundred and ninety-four to be exact. We have created a cool map here - just put in your zip code and it will pull up the closest Target location to you that is participating with this cool new Women's Health destination. Of course, nothing is permanent in the retail space, unless it is successful. So PLEASE show Target how important this category is! We want to see it grow and become a store-wide program.
