Why Breathe Balm?

Our kids have been back in school for a month or so now and despite our best immune support and hand washing efforts, several viruses have already circulated through our home. Those sneezing, stuffy-nose, up-at-night-coughing viruses that can really disrupt life.
Viruses, like the common cold and flu are easily spread and chances are they will from time to time visit your family. In fact, this week I've been sitting in the steamy bath room, filling up the humidifier and slathering on Breathe Balm for my 5-year-old. If you missed my post on Five Natural Remedies for Flu Season, you can read it here.
The truth is, our bodies are pretty amazing, and most of the time fight off these viruses without them progressing into something more serious. The best we can do is provide support for our bodies to heal, and to do our best to soothe and comfort during times of illness.
We are particularly fond of our Breathe Balm because it does just that. Curious why it has become such a must-have natural remedy? Here's a short Q&A to get started:
Q: What's in it?
A: Breathe Balm is made from 100% organic, natural raw ingredients. A nourishing base of shea butter, coconut and jojoba oils, beeswax and a blend of essential oils, including eucalyptus, lavender, tea tree, grapefruit and cedarwood. It is free of petrochemicals, synthetic fragrance, and menthol.
Q: Is it safe for the whole family?
A: We use essential oils and percentages considered safe for infants and grown-ups alike. However, we always recommend patch testing before full use. For infants, discontinue use if any sensitivity occurs.
Q: Is this product considered an over-the-counter drug?
A: No. We are a skincare company and make no medical claims for this product. The purpose is to provide aromatherapeutic benefits, soothe, and provide a barrier to protect skin from becoming chapped.
Q: How do I use it?
A: We recommend rubbing it on the chest, back, neck and soles of the feet. The convenient stick applicator is mess-free, but we think the very best application is to apply and then receive a gentle massage from a loved one.
Q: What can I expect when I use it?
A: The hope of a better night's rest, a soothing and comforting blend of essential oils with properties that support the immune system, clear breathing and uplifted spirits – especially when you or your little one are feeling crummy.
