Giving Thanks for the Present

Giving Thanks for the Present

This morning, as I sit still long enough to write this post, I'm thankful for this present moment. This time of year always sneaks up on me and these past several weeks have been extra busy preparing for our big holiday sale this weekend. Today, I get to switch gears and be with family, doing some of the things I love. As I look out my home office window, the maple trees decorate the yard with brilliant colors, and I'm aware of my family moving through the house. My six-year-old daughter, Grace, and I will bake some of our favorite recipes today and we've planned to read some new library books together. My parents, brother and family will join us this evening for a cozy dinner of soup and bread, and we will just be together.

There are so many things to be grateful for this year and I could spend hours here listing them out. But what I'm most thankful for is the present. Time I get to spend with my family, making memories, being aware of the love and the precious gift of family.

This photo was taken last weekend at my cousin's wedding in San Diego. As I look at it I'm aware of just how quickly time passes. When I started Zoe Organics, my boys were only a toddler and preschooler. My daughter joined us a year later, in 2011. My husband and I, once high school sweethearts, are now surrounded by some of the most thoughtful, smart, witty kids on the planet.

I could go on and on, but my daughter is calling from the other room, asking if we can start our day together. And my answer is "yes."

But before I go, I want to tell you that you are amongst my greatest blessings. My fellow entrepreneurs, customers, mamas, friends, bloggers, vendors... I'm so grateful for you!!

Now, go spend the next few days being present. Don't let any time go by without cherishing those you love.

xoxo
